Plot

In the heart of New York City, we find our captivating con-artist, Peaches O'Day, played by the charismatic Mae West. Her path crosses with the honorable Captain Jim McCarey, portrayed by Edmund Lowe. Torn between duty and affection, McCarey must make a hard choice: arrest Peaches or watch her leave town. Ingeniously, Peaches re-emerges, her allure amplified as the Parisian sensation, Mademoiselle Fifi. Caught in her mesmerizing performance, the city's crooked mayoral candidate, John Quade, played by Lloyd Nolan, makes a play for her affections. When the demure Peaches tactfully rebuffs his advances, Quade attempts to shutter her show. This prompts a reluctant McCarey to step into the mayoral race, opposing Quade. In the midst of this political maelstrom, the fiercely loyal Peaches grasps the reins of McCarey's campaign, igniting a firestorm of excitement. As is her style, Mae West, in the shape of the unforgettable Peaches, navigates the tumultuous war between virtue and corruption with deft charm and unwavering audacity.
