Escape from the Bronx (1983)

In the dystopian remnants of New York, a sinister corporation harbors a ruthless ambition to transform the war-ravaged Bronx into an exclusive high-rise oasis, erasing its current inhabitants from existence. The corporation's dark blueprint for a new city involves a chilling "disinfection" process - a brutal extermination of the Bronx's residents, either by bullets or the searing onslaught of flamethrowers. Yet, amidst the debris and dread, a hardened core of survivors clings defiantly to the underbelly of the Bronx. Emerging from this group is the fiery-tempered, long-haired warrior, Trash. With the desperation of the oppressed and the spirit of rebellion fuelling his every move, Trash becomes the sole thorn in the corporation's side, and the last beacon of hope for his beleaguered home. Joining Trash's insurgency is a motley crew of unlikely allies - a deranged bomb-maker, his equally unhinged preschool son, and a tenacious activist. Together, they hatch a daring plan to kidnap the corporation's president, an uncanny doppelganger of Richard Dreyfuss. This audacious act of defiance sparks a full-blown war, with the corporation's psychopathic enforcer, played by Henry Silva, adding a lethal edge to the escalating conflict.
