Empire State (2013)

In the gritty heart of 1980s New York, Chris Potamitis (Liam Hemsworth) finds his dreams of joining the police academy abruptly shattered. Instead, he lands a job as a security guard with the EMPIRE STATE Armored Truck Company, a role far removed from the adrenaline-fueled life he envisioned. One offhand comment about the company's lackluster security to his best friend, Eddie (Michael Angarano), spirals Chris into the epicenter of a daring plot to plunder the copious cash reserves of the company, culminating in the most audacious cash heist in U.S. history. As the tension escalates, the duo find themselves in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with James Ransone (Dwayne Johnson), a seasoned NYPD Detective with a razor-sharp intuition. Furthermore, they must navigate the treacherous underworld of local crime lords, irate at the audacity of the heist carried out on their territory. Chris and Eddie must outsmart their adversaries, or face dire consequences in this high-stakes race against time and treachery.
