Lars Olafssen, once a celebrated prodigy of the art world, finds himself on the brink of obscurity, his name fading away like an old masterpiece exposed to too much sunlight. His long-standing art dealer, Ronny, has aged into an ungraceful hipster, desperate to reignite Lars' artistic flame and restore their lost fortunes. But Lars is shackled by a dreadful past, his creativity drawn from a murky well of blood and carnage, a cost too steep to bear. In a desperate bid to rejuvenate Lars' dormant muse, Ronny brokers a teaching job for him at an art school nestled in Koda Lake, a tranquil Canadian town seemingly untouched by the chaos of the world.
