In the depths of Mexico, a chilling encounter with the past unfolds as an archaeologist unknowingly sets free an ancient evil. A child-devil spirit, once worshipped by the long-lost tribe of Sanzia, spills forth from its tomb, leaving an eerie silence in the wake of the archaeologist's sudden demise. As the dust settles, an unsuspecting American family arrives in proximity of this archaeological site. Elliot Read, the father, harboring dreams of rejuvenating a decrepit doll factory, has gambled his family's savings on this venture. Amidst the doll-littered factory, a particular porcelain figure catches his eye. Unaware of the malevolent spirit of Sanzia it harbors, he gifts it to his darling daughter, Jessica. A shadow of change sweeps over the Read household as Jessica's behavior takes a sinister turn. The once innocent girl now whispers in forgotten tongues, a transformation that alarms their maid and her mother, Marilyn. The chilling change in Jessica doesn't go unnoticed by Karl Resnick, a fellow archaeologist, who arrives to investigate his colleague's mysterious find and subsequent death. However, as Resnick delves deeper, he must face a horrifying truth. The demon child of Sanzia has been unleashed, not only posing a threat to the local community but also casting a dark shadow over the Read family.
