Plot

In the heart of a tempestuous night, the Bower family, consisting of Rosemary, her husband David, and his seven-year-old daughter Judy, find themselves stranded in the mud, miles away from civilization. On a family vacation, Judy, a daydreamer from Boston, frequently frustrates her stepmother with her vivid imaginings. Hope emerges in the form of an old, seemingly deserted house, inhabited by the enigmatic toymaker Gabriel Hartwicke and his wife, Hilary. This peculiar couple extends a warm welcome, offering solace from the storm. As the Bowlers settle in, the storm brings more wayward guests to the Hartwicke home, including a driver named Ralph Morris and two hitchhikers, Isabel and Enid. The Hartwickes invite them all to escape the storm and share a meal. Isabel, driven by greed, plots to rob their hospitable hosts. Judy, however, stumbles upon a surreal sight: leprechauns escorting Isabel to the attic. Her pleas for help fall on deaf ears, dismissed as another of her fanciful tales. Ralph, a man with a child's heart, is the only one who lends credence to Judy's claims. As the longest night unfolds, an eerie transformation takes place. The house's seemingly innocent toys reveal themselves as enforcers of a chilling justice, weeding out the wicked from the pure at heart. Unbeknownst to the visitors, the Hartwickes' doll creations are not mere playthings, but rather, humans they've miniaturized for their sinister designs. Caught in a nightmarish reality between childlike wonder and adult horror, the guests must navigate the labyrinth of the Hartwicke mansion. Will they confront the truth behind the dolls, or will they become the next victims of the toymaker's wicked game? Only those with a pure heart will survive this haunting encounter.
