Dogboys (1998)

Meet Julian Taylor, a decorated Marine and ex-middleweight boxing champion, whose fiery temper lands him within the chilling confines of Retrieve Prison after a bar brawl escalates. No sooner does he step foot inside the prison than he finds himself under the oppressive thumb of Captain Brown, a fearsome guard who christens him "dogboy" and banishes him to the suffocating quarters known as the doghouse. In this grim environment, Julian crosses paths with fellow inmate Willy Owens and stumbles upon a terrifying revelation. Retrieve's ferocious attack dogs aren't merely deterrents for escapees, but lethal participants in a grim blood sport, orchestrated by the sadistic Captain Brown, who leads a clandestine group of hunters that exploit the prison dogs to pursue inmates for sport and profit. Thrown into this morbid underworld, Willy, masking his true identity as an undercover cop, tries to enlist Julian as an ally, unbeknownst to the latter. Julian, however, shies away, unwilling to dive into these treacherous waters. Willy nevertheless forges on, gathering the proof needed to expose this barbaric operation. But before he can deliver justice, he falls prey to Captain Brown's dog in a brutal attack. Thrust into the fray by Willy's demise, Julian finds an unexpected partner in Willy's former associate, Assistant D.A. Jennifer Dern. Together, they must navigate this labyrinth of depravity to complete Willy's mission. But as they inch closer to unveiling the gruesome truth, they realize they have become the next targets in this savage game...
