Plot

In the bustling world of high society, Millicent Jordan finds herself engrossed in organizing a lavish dinner party. Oblivious to the fragility of her husband Oliver's health, she is singularly fixated on the smallest details of the upcoming event. Meanwhile, Oliver grapples with a silent battle as unknown adversaries seek to buy out his cherished shipping business. He finds an unlikely ally in Dan Packard, a shrewd businessman, whose invitation to the dinner party, endorsed by Oliver yet against Millicent's preferences, stirs the pot further. Simultaneously, the allure of selling off her stock tempts even their old friend Carlotta, further complicating the situation. As Oliver's circumstances grow dire, Millicent's patience wears thin, her temper flaring at the slightest disruptions to her meticulously planned soiree. As the clock ticks closer to the dinner hour, it becomes increasingly evident that both the hosts and the anticipated guests are entangled in a web of personal dilemmas, which promise a banquet of intrigue and drama.
