In the aftermath of an attack by a man bearing Gennai's likeness, Meicoomon, a creature of immense power, is driven into a terrifying rampage. Witnessing her human companion, Meiko Mochizuki, injured in the assault, she is propelled into the Real World. This once familiar realm now warps and distorts, a reflection of the chaos wrought by Meicoomon's uncontrolled power, teetering on the brink of absolute destruction. In the midst of this turmoil, the enigmatic figure of Hackmon appears, bearing a shocking revelation. Homeostasis, the force that strives to preserve harmony across both worlds, perceives Meicoomon as a dire existential threat. As additional Digimon begin to seep through the Distortion, the balance between the two realms teeters precariously on the edge of oblivion. Thrust back into the Real World, the DigiDestined find themselves estranged and alienated. The once vibrant Digital World they knew is now a distorted echo of its former self, and their human society shuns them in fear. Isolated and desperate, the DigiDestined and their Digimon partners strive to navigate a path through this unsettling new reality. In this vortex of turmoil, Meiko carries her burdens alone, her pleas drowned out by the chaos around her. All the while, a cruel fate looms ominously over Kari Kamiya, the pure and sensitive member of the DigiDestined. Amid the swirling tempest of fear and confusion, the heroes must rally their courage, or risk losing everything they hold dear.
