Desperado (1987)

In the dusty tapestry of the Wild West, roams Duell McCall, a drifter with the hardened soul of a cowboy. His latest mission is a simple one - deliver a herd of cattle to a remote town and collect his pay. However, the furnace of fate has other plans. Upon reaching the town, he crosses paths with Sally, a friend from the past, now a lady of the night in Madam Mona Lisa's infamous cat-house. Although he promises to reconnect with her, destiny weaves its own story. The town is a puppet to the company that owns it, with the whip held firmly by the ruthless Ballard and his right-hand man, Bede. These company men are the law, ruling over the locals with an iron fist, their tyranny unchallenged by the feeble Sheriff Whaley, their pocketed pawn. McCall's visit to the saloon results in a tense encounter with Bede, revealing the corruption that permeates the town. Ballard, sensing the cowboy's grit, offers him a place among his enforcers, but McCall's principles prevail, leading him to reject the offer. Fate then introduces McCall to the Malloys: the defiant local farmer and his captivating daughter, Nora. Their refusal to surrender their lands to the company has sparked a bitter feud. As the sparks between Nora and McCall ignite into a passionate flame, he finds himself drawn into the feud, standing with the Malloys against the company's tyranny. But siding against Ballard has consequences. Duell McCall now finds himself a target, pursued relentlessly by Ballard's gang of enforcers, led by the vindictive Bede. With the sheriff conveniently looking the other way, the desperate Malloys call upon the federal Marshal for aid. Thus, the stage is set for a climactic showdown, where the stakes are not just love and loyalty, but survival itself.
