Deepavali (2007)

In the heart of Royapuram, revered Mudaliar's (Vijay Kumar) son, Billu (Jayam Ravi), is cherished as a communal foster son, his affable nature making him the beloved of their locality. Upon a chance encounter at the railway station, Billu's gaze falls on Susi (Bhavana), a newcomer from Bangalore, and an immediate spark ignites in his heart. Susi, a young woman yearning for love and affection, finds herself residing with Sait (VMC Haneefa), a reformed associate of her father, the formidable underworld figure, Chidambaram (Lal). Despite his departure from his former life, Sait's respect towards Chidambaram remains undiminished. The tight-knit community warmth in Royapuram captivates Susi, and she's soon drawn towards Billu. As romantic blossoms begin to bud between them, their shared moments of light-hearted camaraderie with Billu's friends are abruptly interrupted by the unforeseen. The tranquil atmosphere of love and bonding is suddenly poised at the precipice of dramatic change, promising a compelling narrative journey.
