Ellen Richmond, a former alcoholic, constructs a seemingly blissful family life in the heart of Suffolk with her businessman husband, Grove McCarthy, and their two children, Josh and Katie. Her world shatters when Grove perishes on his cherished yacht named Samara, leaving her with a mountain of debt and a haunting Audi, a tangible reminder of his betrayal. The plot thickens as Detective Hal Kazin uncovers Grove's dark secret - an embezzlement of a staggering $1,000,000 from a philanthropic foundation, accomplished with the aid of his shady accomplice, Ken Spradling, into a tax haven proxy corporation.
