Plot

In the year 1993, a college student with an overachieving streak, Jason Moss, finds himself drawn into the chilling world of serial crime. Propelled by an insatiable fascination, he opts to base his criminology class term paper on the infamous John Wayne Gacy. Gacy is a man whose remaining days are counted, confined to death row and slated for execution within half a year. Jason's professor, Mr. Harris, sets a challenging condition on the topic: a fresh perspective, as the arena of serial killers is saturated. Jason crafts an unremarkable letter to Gacy, receiving a questionnaire in response. An idea sparks: to delve into the darkest corners of Gacy's psyche, to understand the mechanisms of a serial killer's mind. Jason reinvents himself in their correspondence, becoming Gacy's 'type' - a susceptible young man from a broken home, teetering on the edge of danger. Despite warnings about Gacy's cunning, Jason is convinced he can outwit the seasoned criminal. However, the game takes an alarming turn when Gacy begins to infiltrate Jason's personal space, unearthing his contact number and making unsolicited calls. As Gacy pushes him to engage in increasingly disturbing 'field work', Jason finds himself treading on emotional quicksand. The stakes are high, and the consequences could be dire for Jason and those in his orbit. This exploration of the human psyche and its darkest realms investigates whether knowledge and curiosity can sometimes lead us into dangerous territory.
