Plot

In the cinematic mosaic, "Dear Alice" (2010), lives of stark contrast intertwine amidst the mundane rhythm of an ordinary day. Franzis Namazi, played by Danny Glover, is a disillusioned immigrant from Gambia now residing in Sweden. On the verge of surrendering his dreams, he clings onto his struggling store, an enclave of African artistry. Parallelly, Karin Carlsson-Said, portrayed by Tuva Novotny, is a determined lawyer standing on the threshold of a significant career progression. Her husband, Moses (Peter Gardiner), a devoted social worker, grapples with a complex transaction to send money to his ailing father in Uganda. Their intricately woven narrative is complimented by Bosse's (Ulf Brunnberg) storyline, a once-celebrated TV star grappling with professional downfall and marital infidelity. Adding another layer to this rich tapestry is Hakan (Stefan Sauk), a charismatic celebrity battling alcoholism, who yet again turns to Karin, his lawyer, for salvation. "Dear Alice" skillfully unravels the depths of human resilience, ambition, and desperation, set against the backdrop of seemingly ordinary lives.
