Plot

In the tumultuous year of 1916, amidst the throbbing heart of Chicago, a laborer named Bill finds himself caught in a fierce altercation with his mill foreman. Fueled by this bitter conflict, Bill, alongside his girlfriend Abby, masquerading as his sister, and his young sibling Linda, make the momentous decision to abandon their gritty urban life. They embark on a journey as itinerant farm laborers, their sights set on the sprawling wheat fields of the Texas Panhandle, their story narrated through the innocent eyes of Linda. Their lives take a fortuitous turn when they find employment on a vast, golden wheat farm. The wealthy yet sickly farmer who owns the land is instantly smitten by Abby. His ardent love for her culminates in a marriage proposal, which, driven by the promise of escaping their life of toil, they cunningly consider. Seeing an opportunity to secure their futures, Bill encourages Abby to accept the proposal, banking on the farmer's impending demise to inherit his wealth. However, their deceptive plan is fraught with danger. The revelation of their true relationship or the shadows of Bill's past from Chicago could lead to dire consequences. Yet, as the expected death of the farmer lingers, tensions simmer beneath the surface, fueling a brewing storm of jealousy and impatience. In this intricately woven tale, unforeseen circumstances and unexpected twists threaten to shatter the fragile harmony that exists between the three, leading them down a path of inevitable accidents. "Days of Heaven" is an evocative exploration of love, deception, and the desperate pursuit of prosperity, set against the majestic backdrop of early 20th-century America.
