This is the story of how a dissolute ex-con meets a 15-year-old boy working in a forest in a small Southern town who needs help from a responsible adult to choose the right path in life. When the ex-con sees the abuse the boy gets from his alcoholic father, he steps in to protect the boy. The boy and ex-con are immersed in a degenerate life and must overcome many challenges for them to trust each other. Will an ex-con with problems of his own be able to convince a boy headed for the same type of disastrous life to turn himself around and find redemption?
