In the heart of Manhattan, we meet Cate Madighan, the 35-year-old editor-in-chief of Perfect, the leading lifestyle magazine. Crafted under the guidance of her mentor and fiancé, media tycoon Stewart Wallach, Cate's life is an embodiment of the magazine's ethos - clutter-free, efficient, and seemingly perfect. Her tranquil existence, however, is jolted when she receives a package from her deceased father, Daniel Madighan, after a 26-year estrangement.
