In the heart of New York City, Officer Ruda leads a double life. By day, he's a dedicated NYPD cop, upholding law and order in a city teeming with chaos. By night, he relinquishes his badge, transforming into a high-ranking Santerio priest, an enigmatic practitioner of Black Magic. His two worlds collide when a fellow cop, Officer James, shoots and kills the son of a revered Santeria high priest, fabricating a story that the young man was armed when he was, in fact, not.
This tragic lie ignites a tempest of spiritual reprisal. The slain man's family, also deeply entrenched in the mystical practices of Santeria, responds by casting an ominous curse on Officer James and all those entwined in the case, including the officers testifying in his favor. As the curse takes hold, the NYPD finds itself in the grip of inexplicable misfortune, its members tormented by a series of chilling incidents.
With the shadowy force wreaking havoc on the force and the city they protect, the NYPD is forced to turn to their unlikely ally. Ruda, straddling the line between law enforcement and the mystical, is their last hope to break the curse.
