In the sinister shadows of Dr. Magrew's lab, an unsuspecting carpenter, Robert "Tank" finds himself entwined in an eerie play of puppetry and human experimentation. His new task is to craft a unique puppet, a vessel, for the doctor's unholy ambition: to breathe life into the lifeless using the arcane works of Andre Toulon. As Tank's hands sculpt the puppet, his heart is simultaneously shaped by the affections of Jane, Dr. Magrew's innocent daughter. Jane stumbles upon a relic from her father's past, a "matt puppet," a chilling testament to his first assistant's fate.
