Plot

In the seemingly tranquil summer of 1939, the idyllic coastline of Norway breathes life into the serene vacation of Admiral Cecil Bowen, his daughter Judith, and son Robert. Amongst the jubilant locals, they encounter Erik Toresen, a widower and fishery observer, who becomes the object of Judith's affection. His young daughter, Solveig, embodies the innocence of their little fishing village, epitomizing a life untouched by the horrors of war. The town's cheerful spirit is accentuated by the joyous wedding of Anna and Gunnar Korstad, casting a veil over the ominous warnings of Bergesen, a man who foresees the specter of war looming. A year later, the echoes of Nazi boots reverberate through the once tranquil streets, transforming the peaceful fishing village into a battleground of fear and oppression. The chilling reality of war unfolds as Bergesen finds his wife brutalized by the Nazis, igniting the flame of resistance among the men of the village, who vow to defy their invaders, no matter the cost. Forced into the shadows by the violence that has engulfed his town, Erik Toresen metamorphoses from a quiet observer into the heart of the Resistance. The brutality of the Nazis drives him into the wilderness, where he stumbles upon a covert German airbase. Armed with this crucial information, Erik becomes a beacon of hope, planning a daring escape to England to reveal the secrets that could turn the tide of the war. In a world where peace has been shattered, the determination of one man could light the path to victory.
