Kingdom of Heaven (2005)

Balian's wife recently committed suicide in France. Baron Godfrey arrives in the village and purports to be Balian's father. The town priest tells Balian his wife was beheaded before burial due to the suicide. At that point, Balian murders his half-brother, the priest, and flees with his father toward Jerusalem. Soldiers soon arrive to take Balian in, and Godfrey is wounded in the ensuing attack. His father later knights him as Baron of Ibelin before succumbing to his injuries. From there, Balian embarks on a journey of redemption in Jerusalem. He fights through battles, both in actual combat and in politics.
