Cold Comfort (1989)

In the unforgiving grip of a blizzard, the lives of three disparate souls intersect at an abandoned gas station, setting the stage for a chilling psychological drama. Floyd, a truck driver teetering on the precipice of madness, is locked in a complex love-hate relationship with his 16-year old daughter, Dolores. His paternal affection is marred by an unsettling undercurrent of forbidden desires. When Floyd stumbles upon Steven, a sales rep marooned by the storm with his car in a ditch, he seizes the opportunity to offer him as an unexpected birthday gift to Dolores. Unaware of his impending predicament, Steven finds himself unwittingly ensnared in the twisted dynamic between father and daughter. He becomes an unwitting chess piece in a dangerous game that blurs the line between captor and captive, escalating into a tense battle of survival. As the snow whirls outside, the tension inside reaches a fever pitch. The gas station, isolated and desolate, becomes a claustrophobic stage for a life-or-death struggle, where the boundaries of morality are blurred and human instincts are pushed to the limit.
