Plot

Charlie Bradford, a budding filmmaker in his 30s, navigates the tumultuous waves of his life, endeavoring to steer clear from the chaos that swirls around his childhood abode. His mother Linda, an eccentric figure grappling with the demons of compulsive hoarding and sporadic depressive episodes, holds an iron grip on the people and possessions she cherishes, enveloping them in her whirlwind of disarray. Charlie's younger siblings, Lisa and Penny, remain ensnared in Linda's intricate web. Lisa, a home healthcare aide with a past tainted by petty theft, grapples with her own complexities. Penny, a timid soul embarking on a new career in the challenging terrain of a struggling real estate market, attempts to break free from her crippling shyness. When a curious water stain on their garage door is mistaken for a divine apparition, their house becomes a local spectacle, triggering unwanted scrutiny from both curious neighbors and the stern county health department. Faced with the threat of losing their home, the Bradford family is hurled into a frenzied mission to declutter their lives. As they sift through the physical and emotional clutter, long-suppressed resentment and sorrow bubble to the surface, compelling each family member to confront their deepest values. As they embark on this journey of self-discovery, they're forced to question what truly matters in their lives, unearthing a poignant narrative of love, loss, and the clutter that binds them.
