Cattle King (1963)

In the rugged expanse of Wyoming Territory, 1883, we find Sam Brassfield, a visionary cattle rancher carving out a new frontier in the cattle industry. Alongside his loyal crew – foreman and housekeeper duo Ed and Ruth Winters, the flirtatious Mexican right-hand man Johnny Quatro, and his headstrong nephew Webb Carter – he runs the Teton cattle ranch with an innovative vision. A vision that sees closed ranching as a sustainable practice, contrasting the traditional open range approach. However, Sam's forward-thinking methods, particularly his erecting of fences, ignite a fierce rivalry with his former mentor, Clay Mathews, a traditionalist cattle baron from Texas. Mathews, driven by a greedy ambition, wishes to maintain an open range stretching all the way to Canada's borders.
