Plot

In the turbulent era of the late 60s, James Bragg, a resilient African-American Army man, returns from his military duties to his hometown; a place steeped in mystery, prejudice, and veiled secrets. He is summoned back by his ailing mother, whose final breaths are consumed by a dying plea - to prove the innocence of Bragg's brother, Linus. Executed three decades prior for the horrific rape and murder of two white girls, Linus's guilt was a verdict that never sat well with his family. Haunted by his mother's wish and his own lingering doubts, Bragg embarks on a quest for truth and justice, meticulously peeling back layers of a case buried deep under the dust of time. As he delves into the inconsistencies and the evidently unfair treatment of his brother, he uncovers a labyrinth of deceit, built on a foundation of bigotry and fear. His investigation brings him face to face with the town's Sheriff, a man living in the shadow of his father - the same Sheriff who had arrested Linus all those years ago. Bragg, fueled by determination and love for his family, is left wondering if he can trust this figure of authority, or if he too is a part of the town's dark conspiracy to conceal the skeletons of their past. In a town where silence is the unspoken law, Bragg's pursuit of truth threatens to unearth secrets some would kill to keep hidden. 'Carolina Skeletons' is a compelling tale of a brother's unyielding faith, a mother's dying wish, and a battle against the oppressive forces of prejudice that will stop at nothing to bury the truth.
