Plot

Beneath the grandeur of Candleshoe Manor, an English estate steeped in history and tradition, lies a centuries-old secret. A swashbuckling pirate once concealed a bounty of Spanish doubloons within its ancient walls. This hidden treasure has lured Harry Bundage, a crafty con artist, who discovers the clue to a fortune that could be resting right under Lady St. Edmund's nose, the dignified yet unsuspecting resident of the manor. However, the exact location of the treasure eludes him. To unearth the wealth, Bundage enlists the help of Casey Brown, a streetwise orphan, crafting a cunning plan. Casey is to impersonate Lady St. Edmund's long-lost granddaughter, infiltrating the manor house to decipher cryptic clues to the treasure's whereabouts. Yet, a twist awaits them both. Unbeknownst to Bundage, and even Lady St. Edmund herself, the manor is on the brink of financial ruin. The lady of the house, with her pride intact, is oblivious to her dire straits, thanks to the efforts of her devoted butler, Priory, and her three young wards. They juggle roles and responsibilities, from managing chores to maintaining the façade of wealth, all to protect their beloved Lady St. Edmund. As Casey joins this ensemble, the boundaries blur between deception and alliance, between a simple con and the heartwarming efforts to preserve a home. With the promise of adventure, the allure of hidden treasure, and the charm of an old English manor, Candleshoe spins a tale of intrigue, camaraderie, and the unexpected bonds that form in the quest for a pirate's bounty.
