Plot

In an era of peace, the United States' President grapples with a plummeting approval rating. The end of the Cold War has left an unexpected casualty: the economy. The thriving weapons manufacturing industry, led by R.J. Hacker of Hacker Dynamics, the primary employer in the Niagara region, is on the brink of collapse due to non-existent military demand. Desperate workers, now jobless, have started resorting to suicide by jumping off the falls, prompting panic and the creation of makeshift jobs to combat the crisis. In the midst of this turmoil, Stu Smiley, the President's Head of Security, hatches a scheme to restore the President's popularity. He convinces the President and General Dick Panzer, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to fabricate a new Cold War. When their old enemies refuse to play along, Smiley, with covert assistance from Hacker, targets an unsuspecting enemy: Canada. The President greenlights this audacious plan with one caveat: no casualties allowed. As they set their plan in motion, the trio remains oblivious to the consequences of their decision. They fail to anticipate the fervor of patriotic citizens like Niagara County sheriff Bud B. Boomer, his trigger-happy wife Honey, and their simple-minded friends, Kabral Jabar and "Roy Boy". Unbeknownst to them, their home of Niagara is set to become the unexpected frontline against the Canadians. Meanwhile, the cunning Hacker has his own business-boosting agenda involving the Hacker Hellstorm, a device with hidden capabilities sold to the Canadians under the guise of a weather tracking system. In essence, "Canadian Bacon" is a satirical tale of political machinations, citizen fervor, and the lengths people will go to safeguard their self-interests. As the plot thickens, the question remains: Will this revamped Cold War heat up, or will sanity prevail along the icy border?
