Plot

In the thrilling, action-packed saga of Burn 'Em Up Barnes (1934), the audacious race-car driver, Barnes, affectionately known as "Burn-'em-Up," steps into the shoes of a guardian for Bobbie Riley, the younger sibling of his fallen comrade George Riley, who tragically lost his life in a race. Concurrently, Barnes embarks on a perilous yet exciting venture in the bus transportation industry with the resilient Marjorie Temple, a woman whose life he daringly saved from the clutches of menacing gangsters. Intrigue escalates when John Drummond, a cunning and ruthless promoter, sets his sights on Marjorie's seemingly barren land, a treasure trove hiding a wealth of untapped oil reserves. With avarice in his eyes, Drummond employs every unscrupulous trick in the book to bankrupt Marjorie's business, forcing her to relinquish her valuable inheritance at a pittance. As Marjorie faces the imminent threat of losing her property, Barnes, undeterred by the danger lurking around every corner, takes monumental risks. He is determined to raise the necessary funds, even if it means endangering his life in the process. This gripping narrative, beautifully punctuated by the visually arresting outdoor scenes that encapsulate the charm of 1930s Los Angeles, sees Barnes defying death and deceit, over and over again, to aid Marjorie in her battle against overwhelming odds.
