Plot

In the heart of Texas, vivacious socialite Valentine Ransome stumbles upon the charming yet reckless playboy, Jonathan Blair. Intrigued by his nonchalant charm, Valentine finds herself drawn into Jonathan's world, teetering on the brink of chaos. Jonathan, a fortunate heir to a grand steamship company, is trapped in a dance with ruin, steering his inheritance towards the verge of bankruptcy with his carefree abandon. After an unforgettable night on the town, Jonathan awakens to find Valentine has escorted him home, her heart fluttering with an undeniable attraction. However, she quickly realizes that his life lacks purpose, his family's shipping empire dangerously close to sinking under the weight of his negligence. Determined to salvage both the man and his legacy, Valentine hatches a plan. She buys the ailing company, placing Jonathan at the helm once more, hoping to steer him towards responsibility. She envisions a future with him, but not before she reforms his aimless ways. However, Jonathan misinterprets her intentions, viewing her as a threat rather than a savior. He believes her to be an adversary, meddling in his affairs and attempting to dismantle his life. Amidst this tumultuous misunderstanding, Valentine must also navigate the choppy waters of Jonathan's engagement to the ditzy, yet tenacious, actress Carol Wallace. Aided by Jonathan's slick butler, Butch, and armed with a dash of slapstick humour, Valentine embarks on a whirlwind journey. Her mission: to rescue a sinking ship, reform a wayward playboy, and claim her own happy ending in the riotous romantic comedy, Breakfast for Two.
