Plot

In the heart of the city, a prodigious talent in snooker, Spencer Pryde (Sam Gittins), is squandering his potential, entangled in the tumultuous world of crime with his band of reckless friends. As the situation spirals dangerously out of control, Spencer finds refuge in the comforting familiarity of the local snooker hall - a sanctuary amidst the chaos. A fortuitous encounter with Qiang (David Yip), a former 8-ball pool champion-turned-coach, serves as a turning point in Spencer's life. Qiang, a beacon of hope in the gloomy snooker hall, offers Spencer an escape route from the perilous path he's treading. He sees in Spencer the spark of a professional player, a potential that can only be harnessed if Spencer is willing to sever ties with his old life. As Spencer teeters on the precipice of life-altering decisions, he must decide whether to embrace the opportunity to turn his life around or continue spiraling down the rabbit hole of crime. Will he break away from his friends, his environment, and the negative elements of his current life? Or will he remain ensnared in the enticing yet dangerous web of his criminal lifestyle? The Break (2020) is a compelling tale of redemption, choices, and the struggle to rise above one's circumstances.
