Plot

In the heart of a penitentiary riddled with deranged prisoners, a woman of strength and fragility, Dr. Lila Colleti, works as a psychiatrist. Haunted by a shadowy childhood trauma and embroiled in a bitter divorce, her world is on the brink of collapse. When her husband, Paul Colleti, snatches custody of their two daughters from her grasp, Lila plunges into a vortex of depression and despair. Her demanding and perilous job, where she navigates the labyrinthine minds of the criminally insane, has become the ammunition Paul uses to win their custody battle. Deprived of her daughters, Lila seeks solace in the hollow charm of a bar, where she crosses paths with Ciro Ruiz, a former patient and prisoner. A dangerous cocktail of drugs and alcohol blurs her senses, leading to a blackout that veils the night in mystery. As the dawn breaks, a chilling discovery is made: Paul and his girlfriend lay lifeless in their home, victims of a brutal murder. Suspicion falls on Lila, transforming her from a bereaved mother into a prime suspect. The investigation falls into the hands of her lover, the tenacious police detective Macy Kobacek, and his partner, Det. Frank Hagen. Amid a whirlwind of accusations and doubt, Lila points her finger at her manipulative patient, Ed Baikman. Recently released into a half-way house, Ed, under the deluded sway of his psychosis, takes it upon himself to "help" Lila by eliminating Paul and his girlfriend. He then cunningly implicates Lila in the crime, threatening to spill their supposed conspiracy to the police when she rejects his romantic advances. As Ed weaves an intricate web of betrayal and deceit, even the unwavering loyalty of Macy begins to waver, causing him to question Lila's innocence. Is she a victim of circumstance or a mastermind in disguise? This compelling tale of love, loss, and suspicion will keep viewers on the edge of their seats until the last frame.
