Bombs Over Burma (1942)

As World War II engulfs the world, Lin Yang, a devoted schoolteacher from Chungking, finds herself conscripted into a perilous mission. Tasked with safeguarding the critical Allied supply route stretching from Burma into the heart of China, she steps into a world dominated by danger and sacrifice. Her resolve to serve only hardens when the war claims the life of one of her innocent students in a Japanese air raid, transforming her grief into purpose. In time, she finds herself amongst a group of Allied representatives, navigating the treacherous terrain of the Burma Road from Lashio, back to their homeland. A sudden bridge failure strands them for the night in a secluded monastery, a temporary sanctuary that soon becomes a front-row seat to terror. As darkness descends, they witness a nightmarish spectacle: a convoy of supply trucks, brutally bombed by Japanese planes with disturbing precision. The uncanny timing and deadly accuracy of the raid sparks a chilling realization among them. The enemy is closer than they think, lurking within their group, or perhaps hidden behind the serene guise of the monastery's priest. As suspicion and fear grip the group, Lin Yang must confront the horrifying reality that the traitor may be within arm's reach.
