Plot

In the heart of Las Vegas, seven-year-old Albert, the son of a dazzling circus performer, lives a life of enchantment and wonder. Tragedy strikes when a fatal car accident takes his mother away, thrusting Albert into a grim new reality. Uprooted from his familiar world, he finds himself in the austere surroundings of New Jersey, under the guardianship of his mother's foster sister, Harriet Franklin. Harriet, a stern businesswoman, grapples with the unexpected change in her life as much as Albert. She finds herself as a reluctant guardian, trying to navigate the unfamiliar world of childhood grief and innocence. The atmosphere of her life is tinged with melancholy, a poignant reflection of her own lost youth. Caught in the gray landscape of loss and adjustment, Albert finds solace in an unlikely companion - Bogus, a spirited, charming, and altogether imaginary Frenchman. This flamboyant magician becomes Albert's beacon of hope and comfort, a symbol of the magic and whimsy that once defined his life. To Harriet's astonishment, she begins to perceive the presence of the vivacious Bogus, a twist that blurs the lines between reality and imagination. As they navigate this uncharted territory together, Bogus becomes not just an imaginary friend, but a bridge between two contrasting worlds - a guiding light helping both Albert and Harriet reconcile with their past and embrace the present. In an enchanting dance of imagination and reality, 'Bogus' explores the journey of a young boy and his reluctant guardian, as they learn to heal, rediscover lost innocence, and find solace in the sparkling company of a very unique French magician.
