Plot

Trapped in the heart of a changing Coney Island neighborhood, David Rosen and his wife Becky find themselves in the crosshairs of an escalating urban battle. Their familiar streets, once brimming with the charm of yesteryears, now echo with the ominous footsteps of Strut, a ruthless gang leader determined to declare the Island his personal playground. Strut's reign of terror unfolds, as he bullies the local merchants, enforcing a malevolent 'protection' racket. His threats, punctuated with raw violence, are an unspoken rule - pay up or pay the price. Unfazed by the growing menace, David stands his ground, refusing to feed Strut's greed with his hard-earned earnings from his beloved restaurant. This defiance, however, comes at a hefty price. David's diner, the heart of his dreams, is soon caught in the unforgiving flames of a firebomb. His neighbours, too, bear the brunt of Strut's wrath, while his sacred synagogue suffers an unthinkable desecration. Boardwalk (1979) is a stirring drama, painting a haunting picture of a community under siege, and a brave couple's fight to reclaim their neighborhood from the jaws of anarchy.
