Plot

Emerging from the shrouded isolation of his mountain home, a cryptic young man, known as Blue (Drew Connick), steps into the unyielding landscape of a small Appalachian town. Afflicted by the rare genetic anomaly of methemoglobinemia, his skin wears an unearthly hue of blue, casting an aura of intrigue and otherness around him. Yet, as he ventures into the heart of the community, his striking appearance is met with suspicion and dread, cleaving a divide amongst the townsfolk. Among the wary faces, however, one shines with empathy and understanding. Pearl (Michele Martin), a resilient young woman, is ensnared in her own labyrinth of shadowy secrets and familial unrest. Held captive in an incestuous relationship with her alcoholic father (Kenny Johnson) and burdened with the protection of her younger sisters and the haunting uncertainty of her brother's disappearance, she finds a kindred spirit in Blue. Seeing past his azure skin, she touches the compassionate soul residing within, and a bond of solace and friendship blossoms amidst the turmoil. Blue, a lone wolf yearning for harmony with nature, is thrust into a maelstrom of conflict when he stumbles upon a lead to the mystery of Pearl's missing brother. His peaceful existence is shattered as he is assaulted and thrust into a brutal confrontation. With love as his guide and protector, he must navigate this violent storm and risk everything to protect Pearl. "Blue" is a striking tale of a unique outsider challenging societal norms while battling personal demons, all entwined in a tangled web of secrets, fears, and unyielding love.
