Blades (1989)

At the prestigious Tall Grass Country Club, a sinister series of gruesome killings stirs up panic and fear. The victims are discovered horrifically mangled, their bodies torn apart as if by some monstrous blade. Norman, the club's proprietor and a man of reputation, is desperate to quell the scandal before the televised pro-am tournament commences. He quietly enlists the help of Roy, the club's new pro, a man wrestling with his own demons of a failed career and a battle with alcoholism. Tensions escalate as Kelly, a proud golf enthusiast who had hoped to be the club's new pro, challenges Roy's appointment and urges for the tournament's cancellation until the brutal killer is apprehended. Amid the chaos, a dubious character, Deke Slater, is apprehended, his deranged ramblings about a rogue lawnmower initially dismissed as the rantings of a madman. With Deke's arrest, Norman breathes a sigh of relief, but Roy and Kelly are not convinced. As they delve deeper into Deke's manic claims, they start to question the dismissive attitude towards the madman's accusation of a murderous lawnmower. Upon Deke's release, the unlikely trio is thrust into a deadly confrontation on the manicured fairways. As the sun sets, they prepare to face off against an unimaginable foe in a life-or-death struggle on the golf course's unexplored terrains.
