Plot

Set against the vibrant backdrop of 1989, Black Holler tells the enthralling story of Laquita Johnson, a street-smart, tough-as-nails student, thrust into a bizarre world on her first day at a new school. Compelled to join an eclectic group of her naïve and exuberant classmates on a college camping trip, she finds herself in the enigmatic and treacherous woods of Black Holler. These woods, pulsating with a sinister life of their own, quickly transform what was intended to be a harmless adventure into a chilling ordeal. As the chaperones prove to be hopelessly clueless and her classmates succumb to the eerie wilderness, the students soon realize their merry escapade is spiraling into a terrifying nightmare. One by one, they start to vanish in the dense forest, leaving behind an ominous trail of mystery and fear. Emerging from the chaos, Laquita finds herself in the unexpected role of the group's sole beacon of hope. Armed with her wits and an indomitable spirit, she must navigate this malevolent wilderness, as she becomes their only shot at survival. Black Holler, with its gripping narrative, high body count, and an unforgettable original soundtrack, is a campy homage to 80s slasher flicks. The cast, reminiscent of "The Breakfast Club," brings a unique blend of humour and suspense, making this movie a classic in its own right. The woods of Black Holler may claim many, but those who make it out will never be the same again.
