Greg is not looking forward to middle school. When he starts school, it's everything he thought it was wedgies, swirlies, an infected piece of cheese, and bullies. The only friend Greg has is Rowley. The duo has been friends forever, but Rowley doesn't fit in even more than Greg doesn't. Greg keeps track of his middle school adventures in a diary that he insist isn't a diary and is actually a journal.
