Plot

As the Christmas season descends upon the Pi Kappa Sigma sorority, a shroud of unease begins to wrap around its festive preparations. The house, presided over by their house mother, the inebriate Mrs. Mac, is abuzz with their annual Christmas party. But amidst the revelry, an undercurrent of dread runs deep as a series of chilling, obscene phone calls from an enigmatic caller, "Billy," disrupts their merriment. A mixed bag of reactions greets these disturbing calls; some, like Jess Bradford, are unnerved, while others like the audacious Barb Coard find amusement in them, and some like Phyl Carlson remain indifferent. Clare Harrison, the epitome of decorum, stands deeply offended. Jess Bradford, already grappling with an internal turmoil of an unwanted pregnancy and a sensitive yet volatile musician boyfriend, Peter Smythe, finds the calls increasingly unsettling. A particularly elaborate call provokes a snide remark from Barb, eliciting a sinister threat from Billy. The next morning, an unsettling void descends on the sorority house when one of the girls mysteriously disappears. The police initially dismiss their concerns, engrossed in another missing person case involving a thirteen-year-old girl named Janice Quaife. It's only when Clare's boyfriend, Chris Hayden, brings more information to Lieutenant Kenneth Fuller that the police finally take notice. As they wiretap the sorority house phones and launch an investigation, a series of escalating incidents begins to plague the sorority house, and the phone calls from Billy continue, growing eerily personal and revealing secrets only known to the involved. Will the police decipher the cryptic clues in time to shield the sorority sisters from an impending doom? Or will the sorority house, once filled with holiday cheer, succumb to a chilling attrition as the faceless terror known as Billy draws closer? As the clock ticks down, the once festive sorority house stands on a knife-edge of terror, its holiday cheer replaced with a spine-chilling fear that threatens to extinguish their Christmas spirit forever.
