In a universe where divinity is a tangible force, the Great Spirit Mata Nui once reigned supreme. But destiny had other plans. Betrayed and cast out of his own body, Mata Nui finds his essence trapped within the legendary Mask of Life, catapulted across the cosmos. His journey's end lands him on the distant, desolate planet of Bara Magna. In this mysterious new world, the mask generates a fresh form for Mata Nui, who finds himself reluctantly entangled in the fierce conflicts of this near-barren and perilous land. However, not all is as it seems. Treachery lurks among the Agori, and secrets lie buried beneath the sands of the desert planet. As Mata Nui aids his newfound allies in their struggle, he must also chart a path back to his former body and confront the malevolent entity that exiled him. In the harsh terrain of Bara Magna, he must navigate the politics of the two villages he unites, defend them against the true adversaries, the Skrall and Bone Hunters, and reclaim his rightful place in the universe.
