Plot

Acclaimed author David Leary finds himself journeying back to the playground of his past when he returns to his childhood hometown to teach. The chalk-dusted classrooms and echoing hallways stir up old memories of Rosco, a relentless bully whose taunts used to darken David's school days. Rosco, whose ambitions have kept him rooted in their shared past, now molds young minds as the town's shop teacher. Two decades ago, David found a sense of triumph when he left town, escaping the torment of Rosco's bullying. His success as a writer provided a comforting distance from his past. But now, with their paths intertwined once more, the ghost of David's childhood nemesis is back to haunt him in the form of cruel practical jokes that seem all too familiar. Is David really prepared to revisit his past and confess to the principal, "Rosco's picking on me," despite his grown-up status? Meanwhile, the generational cycle takes a surprising twist. Their children, stepping into the same schoolyard, form a bond that stands in stark contrast to their fathers' history. As David grapples with his past and Rosco wrestles with the turmoil of his present, their children's friendship becomes an unexpected beacon of hope. Could this be the catalyst for Rosco's much-needed turnaround? "Big Bully" is a nostalgic exploration of past torment and present redemption, a reminder that even the most deeply etched childhood scars can lead to unexpected healing. The school bell has rung — are you ready to return to the past?
