"Back in the Day" serves as a poignant narrative, oscillating between the rawness of the late 80s and the present day. The film unravels the captivating tale of Anthony Rodriguez (William DeMeo), a young half Italian - half Puerto Rican adolescent, battling to survive in the racially charged and perilous streets of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Here, the strong dictate the weak, social clubs hold untamed power, and Anthony's world is a boiling pot of bullies and high rollers. Haunted by an abusive, alcoholic father, Anthony's only solace is his hardworking, compassionate mother, whose untimely demise leaves a void in his young heart. A beacon of hope emerges in the form of local mob boss, Enzo DeVino (Michael Madsen), who becomes Anthony's unlikely guardian angel.
