Plot

In the bustling labyrinth of New Delhi, far from the serene landscapes of Northeast India, a group of close-knit friends from Nagaland and Manipur are on a culinary mission. Chanbi and Upasna lead the brigade, preparing to cook Axone Pork, a traditional North Eastern dish, for their best friend Minam's clandestine wedding. The ingredients are ready, the gang is assembled, and the stove is roaring, but this celebration is not without its challenges. The dish, known for its potent aroma, is akin to a culinary rebel in the cityscape of Delhi, where the scent is not welcomed but rather perceived as an offensive invader. The friends fear the wrath of their intolerant neighbours, and their fearsome landlady, a veritable rottweiler amidst the urban chaos. The pungent smell, a symbol of the cultural and geographical chasm between them and their adopted city, threatens to derail their plans. As the day unfolds, the friends are caught in a whirlwind of comedic chaos and unforeseen hurdles. Their quest to find a safe haven for cooking the dish turns into a journey of self-discovery, testing the strength of their bonds. Amid the struggles, they also grapple with the harsh realities of racism and the complex nuances of their interpersonal relationships. The narrative takes a dive into the lives of these migrants, painting a vivid portrait of their experience in an ostensibly hostile city. Will their love for their culture, the bonds of friendship, and the unifying power of food prevail over these tests? Amid the chaos and laughter, 'Axone' serves up a delectable feast of resilience, camaraderie, and cultural affirmation, leaving viewers to savor the essence of home, even in the most foreign of lands.
