In the claustrophobic confines of a small town, a young woman named Joey is caught in a tug of war between her future and the inertia of her surroundings. Her life, brimming with potential, is clouded by the monotony of her present. A glimmer of hope appears when an army recruiting office promises a path of escape, a chance to change her narrative. But fate has a twisted sense of humor. Just when Joey is on the brink of making her decision, she crosses paths with Rayna, a married mother of two little girls. Their worlds collide and in the wreckage, a complicated, clandestine love affair blossoms. This unexpected divergence from her plan leaves Joey grappling with choices that stretch beyond her and into the lives of others. AWOL paints the intricate story of their forbidden romance and the ripple effects it has on their anticipations, forcing them to navigate the labyrinth of their desires in unexpected ways.
