Avenger (2006)

In the year 1994, the murder of his daughter in Panama drove former C.I.A. Agent Calvin Dexter into a world of private justice, operating beyond the confines of standard legal pathways. Two years on, he is hired by affluent businessman Stephen Edmonds to track down his missing son, Richard "Rickie" Edmonds. Rickie, deeply involved in a private Canadian charity for Bosnian war victims, vanished without a trace. Dexter's investigation leads him into a chilling revelation: Rickie was brutally assaulted and drowned by Zoran Zilic and his Serbian paramilitary faction, his only crime being his benevolent efforts to aid street children caught in the crossfire of war. Dexter, driven by his own thirst for justice, proposes to Stephen to terminate Zilic, as such vicious war criminals rarely face their day in court. However, Deputy C.I.A. director Paul Devereaux has a different agenda. His sights are set on a nuclear arms project in which Zilic is a crucial pawn. To safeguard Zilic and counter Dexter, Devereaux engages the services of C.I.A. troubleshooter Frank McBride. This complex web of personal vendettas, political manoeuvring, and the pursuit of justice sets the stage for an explosive showdown.
