In the chilling depths of the Cold War, the U.S. Navy sends the nuclear submarine, U.S.S. Wayne, on a covert mission into the treacherous waters of political intrigue and espionage. The submarine, commanded by Captain Phil Kettenring, is not just a vessel of war, but also a floating laboratory for secret scientific experiments led by the enigmatic Dr. Dykers.
Unbeknownst to the steadfast Captain, the U.S.S. Wayne carries more than its crew and scientific instruments. Hidden amongst the ranks are Communist Agents, meticulously disguised as U.S. Navy personnel. Their sinister plan is to hijack the submarine and pilfer the revolutionary anti-ballistic missile guidance system, a groundbreaking piece of machinery that could tilt the balance of power.
The U.S.S. Wayne sails straight into a perilous trap set by the Communists in the middle of the ocean. As the vessel plunges into chaos, Captain Kettenring's health deteriorates, Dr. Dykers grows increasingly erratic, and the crew's faith in their leader wavers. With the fate of the mission hanging by a thread, Captain Kettenring must unmask the enemy infiltrators aboard his ship, in a race against time to save not just the U.S.S. Wayne, but potentially the whole free world.
