Plot

In the heart of a secluded forest, two lifeless bodies of brothers in their 40s are discovered, their cold silence contrasted by the presence of a woman lying next to them - weak, but clinging to life. This is the unnerving premise of "All That Matters Is Past," a tale of rekindled love, haunting pasts, and unsettling mysteries. Years ago, as innocent children playing in the woods, Janne and William were inseparable. Their young hearts pulsed with an unspoken love, their lives intertwined by a bond stronger than friendship. But time, as it often does, pulled them apart. After years spent abroad, William returns to Norway, drawn back to his childhood sweetheart, Janne. The allure of their past is too strong to resist and Janne abandons her family to relive their lost youth in a rustic cabin by the river, their sanctuary hidden amidst the sprawling forest. Their attempt to reignite the embers of their childhood love and lust results in a complex, intoxicating dance. But the idyllic summer is shattered when a Chinese baby girl is found drifting down the river, a chilling harbinger of the ghost from their past. The specter of William's brother begins to haunt them, an ominous nemesis that sends them fleeing deeper into the woods. "All That Matters Is Past" threads the mystery of what happened during that fateful summer, interweaving the tales of childhood love, haunting memories, and a desperate flight from an unshakeable past. As Janne is found half-dead next to the corpses of two men in the woods, one question remains – what happened in the heart of the forest where past and present collide?
