Maggie, a tightly wound single mother and college writing tutor from the bustling heart of New York City, seeks to mend her strained relationship with her rebellious teenage daughter, Summer. Hoping to recreate the magic of her younger years, Maggie charts a course to a quaint Tuscan village she once called her second home. Upon their arrival, she unexpectedly crosses paths with Luca, her dashing former flame who is still unwed and shares a home with his octogenarian mother, Carmen. While Maggie grapples with her past, Summer, yearning for her “bad boy” lover in New York, and Carmen, harboring secret nuptial plans with Marcelino, her long-lost love in Rome, impulsively commandeer Luca's car and set off on a wild escape to Rome. In a twist of fate, Maggie and Luca find themselves thrown together in a frantic chase, allowing the disparate duos to spend unexpected time together and foster a renewed understanding of one another. Their journey, rife with mishaps and revelations, goes to show that all roads, indeed, lead to Rome.
