In the heart of New Hampshire, amidst the quiet monotony of a small town, we find Wade Whitehouse, a faded shadow of a lawman. Haunted by the ghosts of an abusive father and a failed marriage, Wade is a man teetering on the edge of his own ruin. His life is a tapestry of disappointments, woven with the threads of contempt from his ex-wife and his relentless struggle with his troubled past. The sudden report of a businessman's accidental death during a hunting expedition, delivered by hunting guide Jack Hewitt, presents Wade with a glimmer of redemption.
