Plot

In the tranquil heart of rural Denmark, there stands a church, famed for a generous apple tree looming in its front yard. Here, we meet Ivan, an eccentric priest who views the world through a whimsical lens, denying harsh realities while waging a personal crusade against the devil. The rectory serves as a peculiar sanctuary for parolees, where they enjoy a second chance at life under Ivan's naive optimism. Among them arrives Adam, an intimidating, beefy neo-Nazi, sentenced to spend 12 weeks within the church's confines. He finds himself confounded and later infuriated by Ivan's relentless positivity. In a defiant quest to shatter Ivan's faith, Adam adopts a seemingly simple mission - to bake an apple pie. However, the apple tree meets a series of calamities: besieged by crows, infiltrated by worms, and struck by lightning. Inspired by the Book of Job, Adam finds a twisted enlightenment, while his brutish comrades unknowingly set the stage for a surprising climax. Adam's Apples weaves a tale of resilience and redemption, where faith is tested, hope is challenged, and the power of human spirit rises amidst the most absurd trials.
